Happy Friday all! It’s been a crazy-daisy week, getting ready for a Thanksgiving-week wedding (yep! – very excited for this one), but not too busy to share a few highlights of this week’s wedding wisdom.
1. I was able to attend Tastemade’s launch party this week, a very fun scene swarming with foodies. The company is devoted to providing innovative cooking videos to the masses via youtube, with a focus on sustainability, originality, and connecting the world through the universal love and appreciation for food. Their studio space in Santa Monica is stunning. (Alas, my new smart phone took crappy photos. But you can find some on their Facebook and Twitter feed!) Check out more about the company here.
2. Thank you, Colin Cowie, for the best answer yet about working around not being able to afford a full bar. If the only option due to budget is to have none at all, it’s okay to have a partially cash bar. He offers an ideal compromise here.
3. Our favorite real wedding from this week is actually close to our heart. I’ve become friends with an amazing event designer/planner/vintage rental guru Emilee Sutherland of Tasteful Tatters. We had a whole long meeting this Monday, and the whole time, sneaky lady, I did not know her vow renewal had been posted on Green Wedding Shoes until I started scanning the inter webs for this week’s favorite real wedding. And I have to say, totally unbiased, this really was the one that stole my heart. Being that she is one of the leading ladies of her kind in the events world, the renewal truly is gloriously and beautifully styled – down to the clever ribbon-wrapped silverware.
Enjoy, and happy one-week-to-Thanksgiving! Can you believe they’re playing Christmas songs on the radio already??
TGIF!
